What is Luka Doncic’s injury?

Doncic exited the game early in the first quarter and left the court following a timeout.

As he attempted to maneuver away from Cameron Johnson in the post, Doncic stepped on Mikal Bridges’ foot and immediately began limping. He made his way back to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after being diagnosed with a left ankle sprain.

In 45 games this season, Doncic is averaging 33.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.5 steals.

How long will Luka Doncic be out?

TNT’s Chris Haynes reported that Doncic underwent an X-ray, which came back negative.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Doncic’s injury has been described as a “mild sprain,” and he’s expected to be day-to-day.

The Mavericks later announced that Doncic will not be available to play against the Jazz on Saturday, Jan. 28.

After a one-game absence, Doncic will suit up for the Mavericks Monday night against the Pistons.
