If you have high-pile carpet, use a vacuum with bristles that can adjust higher off the ground.

Dip a clean cloth or sponge in the cleaning solution and wring it out. Lightly rub the stain using circular movements. Rub a water-dampened sponge or cloth over the area to rinse and blot with a paper towel.

After the stain disappears, blot all excess moisture up with a dry, white paper towel and move on to the next step.

Blot all water up with a dry, white paper towel and let the area dry for several hours.
