Cooked up in 1993 by the health-care-insurance lobby, Harry and Louise starred in a series of ads critical of the then-first lady’s dramatic plan to overhaul the U.S. health-care system. Her proposal for universal coverage actually kept private insurers in place, but she favored strict regulation—including price caps on insurance premiums. And she wasn’t going to compromise, not with the insurance companies, not with Congress, not with doctors. So Harry and Louise fired back, spooking Americans with their veiled references to socialized medicine....

Staunton stars as the late queen, who died in September after 70 years on the British throne, in the latest season of the hit Netflix drama which began streaming on Wednesday. And now, Darvin Ham will be his ninth. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Lakers have hired Ham to be their next head coach. Ham has been a longtime assistant coach, most recently with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he was part of the coaching staff that guided the team to a championship in 2021. Before embarking on a career in coaching, the 48-year-old Ham played eight seasons in the NBA and won a championship with the Detroit Pistons in 2004....

The 2020 NBA MVP award race now has two contenders. For most of the season, there was only one, Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak has had another monster season, solidifying his position as one of the most dominant forces of the modern era. Antetokounmpo is currently averaging 29.6 points, 13.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists. His Milwaukee Bucks have the best record in the league, while he is leading the NBA in offensive and defensive rating....

That roster just got a little weaker, though. Left fielder Eloy Jimenez appeared to suffer a significant leg injury during the team’s 9-2 loss to the Twins on Saturday afternoon. Jimenez appeared to hurt himself in the top of the second inning. He tried beating out a weak chopper to first base but was called out. After touching the bag, Jimenez landed awkwardly. The 25-year old crumbled into the outfield grass, grabbing at his right hamstring before being carted away by team medical personnel....

Polling from U.S.-based, nonpartisan Morning Consult suggests that he’s doing better than at least four of the other global world leaders that are joining him at the G7 summit in England this weekend. According to Morning Consult, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi is the most popular leader at today’s meeting, which is focused on ending the coronavirus pandemic, stopping future pandemics and addressing climate change, among other priorities.
